[LYRICS] i11evn - Short Stories
Even though you always complain
and you say your life’s unhappy
but you better than me
At least you better than me
Say life is a bitch, you can’t move
but you should never forget to be thankful
cuz you better than me
I said at least you better than me
This is the story of a young girl
She was used to being alone in a basement from night to morning
She didn’t have a mother to sing her a lullaby
The 40 year old guy she hoped to be able to call father
was always drunk with eyes that have lost focus
That man, who’s forgotten all decency his own father’s care, often hit his own daughter
She ain’t got a place to go
She don’t got a friend to play with
Invisible to people, no one knows what her name is
She could view the world as cruel if she wanted considering the circumstances
In the window high above her, where her hands couldn’t reach
were dark clouds and rain drops that fall into her innocent eyes
The next day, she was dead
Anybody know ‘bout this
The next story is about a 21 year old male student
He lived a hard life without rest, got into prestigious college his parents wanted
Although he achieved everything and was the object of envy of many
He didn’t let it get to him and always works hard
He thought about others, listened to what they had to say
He didn’t let the bad go without justice
and went as far as to ask around if he didn’t know the directions for a lost man
(So this one day) he saw a grandma going up the stairs
Luggage on either hands and a bent back
He ran to her side and picked up the luggage for her
Brought her safely to her destination, a small alley on top of a hill
She gave him a canned drink out of gratitude
Although he refused, he drank it anyway
And when he opened his eyes, his body was so light
What happened to him? No one knows about it
The third story is about a grandpa in his 80’s
Although born into poverty, he lived without lies
All he wanted was a normal family
In order to achieve that, he lived a life he could be proud of under the sky
He poured his passion for the well being of his children
But the reality that he received in exchange was loneliness in a single room
Next to a television that didn’t quite work
was a picture of his life partner, who already left this world
His five kids don’t come to visit
Even when he calls, he doesn’t remember because of the amnesia that’s settled in
Now he can’t remember anything, not even any phone number
Was a day worth 24 hours, or was a useless life worth one moment?
He hung himself all alone, surrounded in blues
Six months later, his offspring saw him on the news
